Filament Winding

This process involves winding resin-impregnated fiber material around a ‘mandrel’ to create composite products which are typically cylindrical, but can be conical or spherical in shape.

Prior to winding, the fiber material is impregnated with the resin system. The deposition angle of the fiber material plays an important role in the final properties of the composite structure.

Main benefits of Filament Winding

• Cost-effective process
• Uniform reinforcement distribution
• Process automation
