Compression Molding/Curing of Prepregs Out-of-autoclave processes such as compression molding are increasingly providing unparalleled efficiencies in terms of cost, production rates, quality and performance of parts in many sectors, notably the aerospace and automative industries.

Compression Molding Technique
Stacks of several layers of Prepregs are pressed into heated metal forms and cured. The compression forces between the upper and lower forms produces good surface qualities.

The process is particularly suited for components with uniform wall thickness (even or dish-shaped).

Main Benefits of Compression Molding
•    Time savings through short production cycle times
•    High-quality components
•    Relatively low tool costs and capital investment
•    Lower pressure & temperature curing than autoclaves
•    Even resin distribution – no dry spots
