BACKGROUND

The Bergkamen site is situated between the "Ruhrgebiet" in the south, which is the largest industrial area in Germany, and the "Münsterland" in the north, which is a large agricultural and recreational area.  Bergkamen is located about 20 km north of  Dortmund and about 30 km south of Münster.

The site facilities are located within a chemical industry park in Bergkamen. Originally the industrial park was owned by the "Chemische Werke Bergkamen" (Petrochemical Industry) before it was acquired by Schering in 1959.  In 1960, the site started the first production of polyaminoamide hardeners.

Today, the site manufactures a wide variety of products, e.g. hardeners for epoxy systems, epoxy boards, hot melts and printing inks. The products mainly serve the Coatings, Construction and Adhesives (CCA) business.

HOW TO REACH US

• Via motorway A1:
• Exit No. 81 "Hamm/Bergkamen"
• Follow signs Bergkamen
• At the 2nd (from the north)/at the 3rd (from the south) traffic lights, turn left direction "Bergkamen Stadtmitte"
• Lorries: at the 4th traffic lights turn right for gate 2 "Tor 2"
• Cars: at the following roundabout, take first exit for gate 1 "Tor 1"
• Lorries should use the A1 exit of the motorway. We support the local authorities in trying to keep lorries away from other routes to the site
