Fatty acid derivatives of morpholine are used as emulsifiers in the production of waxes and polishes. Other derivatives are used in the manufacture of bactericides, pharmaceutical chemicals and antioxidants for lubricating oils. In the textile industry they are employed as lubricants and sizing emulsifiers.

N-methylmorpholine (NMM)

Applications for NMM include as a stabilizer for chlorinated hydrocarbons and an extraction solvent. It can also be used in the preparation of self-polishing waxes, oil emulsions, corrosion inhibitors, water-reducible paints, and pharmaceuticals.

N-ethylmorpholine (NEM)

NEM acts as a stabilizer for chlorinated hydrocarbons; an extraction solvent; and can also be used in the preparation of self-polishing waxes, oil emulsions, corrosion inhibitors and pharmaceuticals.

N-methylmorpholine oxide, aqueous solution (NMMO)

NMNO can be used to form cellulose solutions from which films and fibers may be obtained.

Aminopropylmorpholine (APM)

APM is used as an intermediate for printing dyes; additives for fuels and lube oils; and specialty surfactants.
