The JEFFAMINE® monoamines are designated with an M. The M is representative of the fact that they are Monoamines. The number designation after the letter M represents the approximate molecular weight.

JEFFAMINE® M series products

The JEFFAMINE® M-series products are prepared by reaction of a monohydric alcohol initiator with ethylene and/or propylene oxide, followed by conversion of the resulting terminal hydroxyl group to an amine.

XTJ-505 and XTJ-507 are predominantly PO based, whereas XTJ-506, and JEFFAMINE® M-2070 are predominantly EO based.
