The phase-out timetable in the region is different. In western Europe, the use of CFC-11 has been disallowed, whereas in Africa and the Middle East the material can still be used.
As replacement, there are mainly two products used - pentane and HCFC-141b. Pentane is by and large the leading blowing agent group. Since 2000, the blend of cyclo-/iso-pentane has become the most commonly used (compared to pure cyclo-pentane in the past).
