Huntsman demonstrates benefits for the MOBILTECH© segment at Mtex in Chemnitz, Germany
Huntsman Textile Effects will be focusing on “First class color and performance” and “Automotive textiles at their best” at stand A28 in Hall 1 at Mtex in Chemnitz, Germany, the first International Exhibition and 2nd Symposium for Technical Textiles in Vehicle Manufacturing, from October 10 to 12, 2006.
“To meet the ever higher standards required in the MOBILTECH© segment, manufacturers are constantly seeking to improve the appeal, comfort and durability of interiors and looking for new effects,” says Michael Effing, Vice President, Textile Effects, Region Europe, Middle East and Africa. “Huntsman’s presence at this trade fair and symposium emphasizes its commitment to providing innovative solutions for vehicle interiors. Visitors from the automobile, commercial vehicle, railway and aircraft manufacturing sectors looking to improve quality, consistency, speed and reliability in bringing new effects to the market will find novel approaches to meeting end product requirements and enhancing business.”
First-class fabrics add to a vehicle’s attraction and enhance its value. To keep interior trim looking smart, textiles must be highly fast to the combined effects of light and heat. Huntsman offers a unique dyeing system comprising TERATOP® HL disperse dyes and a specially developed UV absorber, which ensures that fabrics in cars stay fresh and bright. For those who desire individual interior design at affordable prices, there are now new options for printing fabrics in widely varying designs and colors with TERASIL® DI-HL disperse digital printing inks, which have especially high light fastness. Keeping fabrics clean and fresh is particularly important: OLEOPHOBOL® special fabric protectors ensure that food and drink do not penetrate carp
ets or upholstery and can be easily brushed off or washed out. Safety is another crucial aspect: fabrics treated with FLOVAN® CGN flame retardant will not ignite, even on contact with a burning match.
These are just some of the effects required in the MOBILTECH© segment today. To achieve all the different specifications and effect combinations entails knowledge of every single step in processing, from fiber manufacture to car seat. Huntsman Textile Effects works together with customers throughout the processing chain to meet new industry standards and fulfill customer wishes. And Huntsman ensures the same high standards worldwide, enabling its partners to achieve quality efficiently and cost effectively, wherever they are.
