HOW RUBINATE® MDI ADHESIVES BOND STRONGLY WITH WOOD PANELS

When MDI is applied to the surface of wood particles (fibers, chips, strands), it wets the wood uniformly and then spreads and penetrates deeply into it. Depth of penetration is in the order of 1 mm or more, which is well beyond the minimum 0.3 mm needed for a wood resin to provide adequate adhesive strength. This extra penetration by MDI also greatly improves the wood's resistance to thickness swell.
