Jeffsol® Propylene Carbonate And Ultrapure® Propylene Carbonate From Huntsman Given Voc Exempt Status
The Woodlands, TX - Huntsman's (NYSE:HUN) Performance Products division today announced the granting of official VOC exempt status by the EPA for the company’s JEFFSOL® propylene carbonate and ULTRAPURE® propylene carbonate.
“Huntsman is proud to be a key supplier in such a growing segment of the coatings market,” said Stu Monteith, Vice President of Performance Specialties. “At Huntsman we are keenly aware of the positive role specialty chemical companies can play in increasing availability and supply of environmentally-friendly products. This ruling by the EPA is a direct result of actions initiated by Huntsman several years ago.”
As the largest producer of propylene carbonate in the Americas region, Huntsman enjoys a solid presence among coating and ink formulators looking for an environmentally-friendly alternative to commonly-used carrier solvents, tail solvents, coalescing agents, plasticizers and cleaners/strippers. JEFFSOL® propylene carbonate is a high grade, high purity product with flexibility in function and application to allow broad growth across many areas.
ULTRAPURE® propylene carbonate is an extremely high purity propylene carbonate for solvent solutions requiring very low levels of water and glycol.
