Daniele Ferrari, President of Huntsman’s Performance Products division said: “The HYDRAPOL® RP series of surfactants is the result of focused Huntsman research directed specifically at finding practical solutions to environmental challenges facing the specialty chemicals industry.”

HYDRAPOL® RP series non-ionic surfactants can be used in the formulation of domestic and industrial detergents, leather degreasers, scouring detergents, textile and paper processing chemicals, processing additives, and adhesives.  They are currently manufactured at the company’s plant in Botany Bay, Australia, with plans to expand elsewhere.

About Surfactants:

Surface science is a branch of chemistry which defines the behavior of molecules at or near a surface or interface.  This interface can be between liquids, solids or gases (or any combination between them) and molecules which modify behavior at an interface are called surface active agents or ‘surfactants’.  Surfactants are responsible for the fundamental physical effects of wetting, dispersion or deflocculation and emulsification.  Huntsman manufactures surfactants at plants in North America, Europe and Australia.
