Huntsman Footwear Experts to Exhibit at ISPO

Find Huntsman on the Fitstation by HP stand (Hall A5 Booth 224)
ISPO Munich 2019 from February 3-6, 2019

Everberg, Belgium - Footwear material experts from Huntsman are exhibiting at ISPO Munich 2019 - the world’s largest sports business trade fair. Sharing space on the Fitstation by HP stand, Huntsman will be discussing the polyurethane materials it has developed to support the production of personalized footwear on multi-segment injection molding machines.

At ISPO, Huntsman’s team will also be talking about the benefits polyurethane chemistry can bring to the manufacture of 3D printed parts - another area of the footwear industry that’s moving forwards quickly.

Huntsman is a major supplier of innovative polyurethane systems to the global footwear market and is committed to working with companies that are driving forward new ways of working - including novel manufacturing methods for the production of custom-made shoes.

Around the world, demand is growing for tailor-made shoes, which are designed to fit a person’s feet perfectly. This trend is gathering real momentum across the industry - but particularly in the sports shoe sector, where better, more comfortable fitting footwear can help improve the performance of professional athletes and keep fit enthusiasts.

Hugo Verbeke, Global Development Manager PU Elastomers at Huntsman, said: “The sports shoe sector has always operated at the cutting edge of the footwear industry - coming up with ever more creative, ever more inventive designs. With long-standing relationships in place throughout the sports shoe value chain, our material experts have kept pace with the speed of change - working closely with machinery manufacturers to develop materials that can be easily processed on new pieces of equipment. This includes technologies that can be used for the manufacture of customized shoes and systems that can be scaled for mass-market manufacture. We are delighted to be returning to ISPO - an event that enables sports business professionals to get together and find out about the very latest trends and technologies in clothing and footwear manufacture.”
