Huntsman Expands Footprint in South America

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 26, 2018

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Huntsman Corporation (NYSE: HUN) today announced that its Polyurethanes division is
expanding its footprint in South America with the commercial registration of its business in Chile. The new legal entity, called Huntsman (Chile) SpA, based in Santiago de Chile, will increase the capabilities of Huntsman Polyurethanes, as well as other Huntsman divisions, to supply materials and service Chilean customers from a local warehouse and customer service center.

“The new facility will give Huntsman the ability to rapidly respond to customer requests with local product stocks from our warehouse in Santiago,” says Luis Mendonca, Director, Central and South America, Huntsman Polyurethanes. “From now on, our customers in Chile will be served by a local staff.”

“The Huntsman Chile SpA site is further evidence of Huntsman's ever growing commitment to the South American market.  With this new site, we will be able to better serve our regional customers through innovative technologies; an improved supply chain; a commitment to product stewardship and local customer service. Chile is central to a young and growing region of South America. I am incredibly excited about this new step forward,” said Peter Huntsman Jr., Sales Director, Latin America, Huntsman Corp.

With the commencement of activities in Chile and the staffing up of the site, Huntsman now has South American polyurethanes operations in Cartagena and Bogota, Colombia; Santiago, Chile; São Paulo and Taboão da Serra, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina. This allows Huntsman to expand its polyurethanes services and footprint throughout South America. Additionally, these locations are supported by a solid and reliable distribution network spread across seven other countries in the Central and South American region.

With the recent acquisition of Demilec Inc., Huntsman now has a total of 17 polyurethanes locations in the Americas region, which include systems houses, manufacturing sites, R&D locations, customer/support technical centers and dedicated product distribution facilities. Huntsman’s polyurethanes footprint in the Americas region spans all the way from Canada to Argentina.

“We, as well as our customers, are excited about the prospects that the new Huntsman site in Santiago will bring to the market. We know that it will help Huntsman solidify our leading position in the Central and South American polyurethanes market, and help our customers grow their businesses in Chile and the surrounding areas,” concludes Mendonca.
