Java Enterprises Inc., to Offer Huntsman`s VITROX® ABR Resins as Part of Abrasives Package

Everberg, BELGIUM – The polyurethanes division of global chemical company Huntsman today announced details of a new working relationship with US-based Java Enterprises Inc., – a premier provider of non-woven abrasive manufacturing technologies to the global, industrial marketplace.

Java Enterprises, located in Austin, Texas, has incorporated Huntsman’s specialist VITROX® ABR resins into the toolkit of solutions it offers when providing strategic consultancy and engineering services to abrasive manufacturers worldwide.

Java Enterprises enables companies to manufacture a range of non-woven products, and helps abrasives producers optimize and expand existing manufacturing capabilities so they can develop world-class, competitive products. Business services range from basic equipment design to the final specification of abrasive products used to grind, polish, blend and clean a variety of different substrates. Java also makes recommendations on the integration of new process technologies. Areas of specialization include managing the design and installation of pilot and full-scale production lines; and providing specifications on equipment and material choices that can be combined to create a comprehensive manufacturing process spanning raw materials through to finished products.

Launched earlier this year, Huntsman’s VITROX® ABR resin technology is a range of two-component resins that can help make the manufacture of abrasive products more time efficient and cost effective while also improving quality, performance and longevity.

David Wagner, CEO of Java Enterprises, said: “Over several decades I’ve worked on the development of many different abrasives products, and helped design and install non-woven abrasive production lines for a variety of companies. As an independent consultant and contractor, I’m always looking for new technologies that can simplify and improve abrasives manufacturing processes. VITROX® ABR resin technology goes one step beyond anything I’ve seen, opening up new opportunities to manufacturers that want to scale up their operations – but who thought that capability was beyond their reach.”

“Early on in the VITROX® ABR resin development process, I worked with the team at Huntsman, helping them pinpoint the resin properties that are vital for successful abrasive manufacturing. Having reviewed the range that Huntsman has produced, I am impressed by the performance of the products, especially their non-smearing properties – a critical selling point. Moving forward, VITROX® ABR resins will be central to several key production technologies that we will offer abrasive manufacturers and I’m delighted to add this versatile family of resins to the list of products we recommend.”

Johan van Tongelen, Adhesives Growth Projects Director at Huntsman Polyurethanes, said: “We are relatively new to the abrasives market but have a long history of developing resins for the adhesives industry so diversifying into the abrasives sector was a natural step. When we created our VITROX® ABR resin technology we knew we were on to something special. The reaction from the customers that tested the products reinforced this. We’ve had some incredibly positive feedback about the ease with which the range can be processed, as well as the improvements to end products that can be achieved. We look forward to working with David – who is a real authority on abrasives – to extend the use of VITROX® ABR resins around the world.”
