Huntsman to Showcase its South American Capabilities at FEIPLAR COMPOSITES & FEIPUR 2016

November 3, 2016

SÃO PAULO – Huntsman Corporation (NYSE: HUN) announced that its Polyurethanes, Performance Products and Advanced Materials divisions will be showcasing their strengths and capabilities in South America at the FEIPLAR COMPOSITES & FEIPUR 2016 Exhibition from November 8-10 at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, Brazil.

“Huntsman is proud to highlight its strong presence in the South American market and participate in this event as a sponsor, presenter and exhibitor,” said Luis Mendonca, South America Director, Huntsman Polyurethanes. “At our stand # A14, Huntsman will be showcasing multiple solutions for customers, including foam technology for bedding, furniture and seats; catalysts from polyurethanes applications and the latest line of adhesives.”

Huntsman Polyurethanes will be showcasing its RUBIFLEX® Cocoon polyurethane-based foam technology, which can be used to manufacture a cooler, more breathable and flexible foam for bedding, furniture and automotive seating applications. The RUBIFLEX® Cocoon technology is designed to significantly enhance comfort by reducing the build-up of heat and humidity in foam mattresses, pillows and seat cushions, caused by the body when it is at rest.

The Performance Products division will showcase its low emission JEFFCAT® amine catalysts for flexible polyurethane foams and mono component systems. JEFFCAT® DMDEE is a unique amine catalyst designed for one-component (1K) polyurethane systems. Under adequate storage conditions, the amine catalyst remains stable when introduced into the isocyanate, allowing for proper bonding in rebonding polyurethane applications and window sealant applications for the automotive industry.

“At Huntsman, we strive to develop solutions to assist our customers and help them reach their emission reduction objectives,” said Roberto Kirschner, South America Director, Huntsman Performance Products. "One good example of this can be found with our low emission JEFFCAT® amine catalysts that can help reduce volatile organic compounds (VOC) and fog emissions contributed from the amine catalyst. This reduction can help polyurethane formulators pass even the most stringent specifications set by various original equipment manufacturers.”

Huntsman Advanced Materials will launch its ARALDITE® methyl methacrylate (MMA) line of adhesives, which feature improved elongation at break; notable toughness and resilience to vibrations; dynamic loading strength and are suitable for bonding applications in the automotive, marine and large equipment sectors. The new adhesives are easy to handle and suitable for bonding plastics, composites and other dissimilar substrates.
Another important technology Advance Materials will be showcasing is its epoxy resins, which are utilized in many key segments – aerospace, automotive, oil and gas and wind turbines – of the advanced composites market. These resins help provide sustainable solutions, including product light weighing, strength and processing advantages.

“All three Huntsman divisions look forward to growing our business in Brazil and the surrounding South American markets through the research and development activities at our São Paulo Advanced Technological Centre (ATC), which is located at our Taboão da Serra manufacturing site,” said Wellington Bonifácio, South America Director, Huntsman Advanced Materials.

Huntsman Polyurethanes will present the following conference session at the event:
