THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Huntsman Corporation (NYSE: HUN) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Tecnoelastomeri S.r.l. has joined the Polyurethane Manufacturers Association (PMA), demonstrating the company’s commitment to providing the Americas market with advanced elastomer systems based on methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) technology.

Huntsman Tecnoelastomeri, based in Modena, Italy, is a manufacturer and marketer of MDI-based hot-cast elastomer systems and processing machines. Hot-cast polyurethanes are used in many downstream applications, including wheels, rolls, technical parts and seals. These applications are used in the automotive, rail, oil and gas, mining and steel industries, among others.

“Since Huntsman acquired Tecnoelastomeri S.r.l. in June 2015, we have introduced many customers worldwide to the benefits of high-quality engineered urethane elastomers,” said Riccardo Cirà, Global Commercial and Marketing Manager, Huntsman Tecnoelastomeri. “Joining the Polyurethane Manufacturers Association will enable us to extend the reach of our versatile and superior-performance MDI-based elastomers in the Americas.”

The Polyurethane Manufacturers Association serves as a collective voice and trusted resource for the cast polyurethane industry’s latest technology, practices and knowledge. The organization promotes polyurethane’s many advantages over rubber, plastic and metal, and also advances new business opportunities in diverse markets by empowering polyurethane processors and suppliers in a changing regulatory environment.

“PMA is pleased to welcome Huntsman Tecnoelastomeri to our membership of leading companies dedicated to the advancement of the cast polyurethane industry,” said Philip R. Green, President, PMA.
