THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Polyurethanes Division of Huntsman Corporation (NYSE: HUN) today announced the availability of its first online American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education course. The course, titled Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) for Building Insulation, reviews spray polyurethane foam (SPF) usage and best practices for architects and designers when utilizing it in building design and construction.

In addition to covering SPF basics, the program also analyzes the differences between open and closed cell SPF, and explains the benefits associated with the use of each product.

After completing the online course, participants will be able to:

• Explain the advantages of specifying SPF systems for interior and exterior insulation applications
• Compare the advantages of SPF as an air barrier to other air barrier products
• Define components and applications of SPF systems

“Huntsman Polyurethanes is proud to offer an online AIA-certified continuing education course for architects and builders,” said Monica Karamagi, regional marketing and industry affairs manager, Huntsman Polyurethanes. “We know that having spray foam specified early in the design phase of a building is a key to its growth in the industry. We are very pleased to advance the understanding and use of the product. Having the course available online makes it much easier to access, and allows participants to take it based on their own schedules.”

The free online course offers one continuing education (CE) credit for AIA members and is currently available on the Ron Blank & Associates’ website (www.RonBlank.com). To meet the criteria for one continuing education credit, participants must pass a test at the end of the program. Additional information on the course is below.
