Leading Building Industry Experts Address How Spray Foam Insulation Can Achieve Increased Energy Efficiency in Residential Building Projects

The Woodlands, Texas – Huntsman Corporation’s (NYSE: HUN) spray polyurethane foam (SPF) technology, utilized in CertainTeed’s CertaSpray™ Foam Insulation will be showcased in a free online webinar. The event hosted in partnership with CertainTeed Corporation, will focus on the benefits of SPF insulation in residential construction and remodeling, and will discuss how to incorporate SPF in building projects to maximize energy efficiency, from the perspective of a panel of leading building industry experts.

This free online event will take place Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. EDT with leading building science expert Dr. Joseph Lstiburek, Principal of Building Science Corporation and Graduate Master Builder, Certified Green Professional and Certified Graduate Builder Scott Frankel, Vice President of Frankel Building Group.

The webcast will highlight how SPF helps builders meet today's R-value and air tightness requirements, building codes and green building requirements. Panelists will also discuss:

• How SPF restricts the infiltration of heat, air, moisture and sound
• The differences between open and closed cell SPF, and where to apply each in a building envelope
• HVAC sizing requirements
• Ventilation requirements
• Considerations when selecting an SPF contractor

Offering a builder’s perspective on SPF insulation, Frankel will share why Frankel Building Group selected SPF as its insulation of choice in the homes the company builds, as well as review the benefits of SPF from a homeowner’s point of view. Attendees will learn how Frankel Building Group sells the value-added benefits of homes insulated with SPF, including lower utility bills, an improved indoor environment and a more structurally sound home.

“This webinar is a great source of information for builders, architects and other construction professionals who are interested in exploring the benefits of spray foam insulation,” said Monica Karamagi, marketing manager, Huntsman Polyurethanes.

“Achieving energy efficiency in residential building projects is becoming a critical selling
point for the building industry, and this panel will address the most important issues today’s construction professionals need to understand.”

CertainTeed’s CertaSpray Foam Insulation is a product based on Huntsman’s SPF technology. CertaSpray SPF is utilized in the walls, cathedral ceilings, attics and the underside of roof decks to provide an effective, tight thermal and air barrier. The result is a reduction in energy loss because of air infiltration, and significantly lower heating and cooling costs for the homeowner.

The webcast will be hosted by CertainTeed’s Insulation Group and moderated by Lionel Rossignol, Product Manager, CertainTeed. It will feature a live Q&A session at the conclusion.
