Huntsman Polyurethanes launches low viscous multifunctional SUPRASEC® isocyanate grade for adhesives

A new isocyanate with improved adhesive properties and medium  functionality has been developed by Huntsman Polyurethanes. SUPRASEC® 2330 was developed for use in variety of rubber crumb applications including running tracks, playgrounds, sport surfaces and stable matting.

Offering a higher level of reactivity than comparable solutions, the fast curing characteristics of this flexible material means it can also be used to produce shoe-sole, wood and construction adhesives, adhesives for general industrial use and laminating adhesives for the panel industry

Thorsten Gurke, Technical Manager at Huntsman Polyurethanes, said: “The development of this new grade of SUPRASEC® demonstrates Huntsman’s commitment to providing the market with raw materials that reflect specific needs. By adding SUPRASEC® 2330 to our existing range, we are extending the choice for  formulators when it comes to the creation of polyurethane-based adhesives. Our new solution will enable our customers to strike the right balance between strength and flexibility, while maintaining the good mechanical, reactivity and viscosity characteristics they demand.”

As well as manufacturing and supplying SUPRASEC® MDI, the technical team at Huntsman can also offer formulators and manufacturers a broader level of customer support. This includes the provision of advice and information on technical issues as well as EHS matters.
