Insulation

MDI-based polyurethane insulation is the most effective insulant available in the market, with the highest thermal resistance (R-values) at a given thickness and the lowest thermal conductivity. It is widely used in roofs, walls, floors and ceiling cavities, as well as in building exterior applications, in both new and retrofit construction projects. Huntsman’s polyurethane systems and components are used in the manufacture of rigid foam boardstock (board and block), insulated metal panels, structural insulated panels and one-component foam, all of which are used in commercial and residential roofing and wall applications.

Use of polyurethane insulation in buildings helps meet advanced energy codes, energy efficiency legislation, contributes toward green building certifications and provides comfort to the building occupants.

Huntsman Building Solutions is one of the world’s leading spray polyurethane foam (SPF) businesses. As the fastest growing building insulation product globally, SPF can help reduce energy cost in new and existing buildings by as much as 50 percent. SPF functions as both an insulant and an air-sealing product, thereby reducing energy loss due to air infiltration. Huntsman also supplies the systems found in one-component foam, which is used to fill in cracks and gaps around door jams and utility openings.

Our large family of JEFFCAT® catalysts brings power, speed and strength to a wide range of both closed-cell and open-cell polyurethane formulated systems.
